Updates: UWAT Kenya


Kenya with the population of 49.7 Million is a country in East Africa with coastline on the Indian Ocean and loads of savana land and forests, mountain and chilly weather. It is also also home to a growing Tech Community (World Bank Report 2017).

iSpace's flagship programme, Unlocking Women and Technology got a lot of traction after the #UWATNigeria held at Abuja, that saw the need to train women in Business on Digital tools for Startups and Business Development. 

After a partnership with Kayana , a Female focused Hub based in Nairobi, and Google Digital skills, UWAT was able to host and train 35 women in Tech and Business in Kenya.

Noreen Makosewe


Noreen Makosewe is a sought-after international Strategy Advisor, Keynote Speaker and Tech Inclusion Advocate who specialises in helping brands, business leaders and boards design smart strategies to start-up, scale-up or streamline processes for operational efficiency and increased profitability. She spent 15 years working at different Fortune 100 companies and set up The Radical Leap Company, a boutique strategy advisory and consulting company. She now has 10+ years experience working with senior leaders & business owners from a broad range of organisations across 5 continents and shares thoughts and insights at business & leadership conferences, as well as on media platforms like newspapers, radio & TV.

Favour Nma Ozichukwu


Favour Nma Ozichukwu is a Management Consultant, Operations Manager at iSpace Foundation and HR professional with vast multi-industry knowledge, Africa-wide. She currently serves as the Team Lead Manager for iSpace flagship program, Unlocking Women and Technology, executing strategic initiatives in enabling women gain access to business and tech training, mentorship, and access to funding. She holds a BSc in Human Resource Management from Pentecost University College, Ghana and a couple of certifications in Operations Management & Sustainability. Outside of her current work, Favour's passion for Community Development and Capacity Building evolves around her volunteering hours for mentoring sessions, speaking engagement and workshops. She is also a Budding EduTech Advocate.

John Wanjala 


John Wanjala is responsible for digital marketing consultancy and lead facilitator for Google Digital Skills for Africa program at Africa 118 Company strategic theme of “Leading capacity building and Business Incubation Provider.”  This includes the online strategy, marketing websites, Search Engine Optimization & Search Engine Marketing, Social media marketing. He serves as a lead facilitator in Nairobi and environs where he has been able to train over 5,000 MSMEs within Kenya on ways to make most positive use of the web.   Prior to this, John worked for Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) as an Entrepreneurship Facilitator that was supporting the youth through Start Up skills and Computer Literacy. He also served as an Environmental Specialist for DOT in Nakuru County, before accepting the role of leadership and empowerment programs with USAID. As a volunteer, he mentored youths and start-ups on how to develop sustainable businesses in relation to the SDGs.   John holds a BA in Economics from Moi University. He also earned CPA 4 from Kericho College of Accountancy. He is receptive and passionate towards youth and women towards economics and social empowerment in technology.
